How It Works

Following is a rudimentary explanation of how our photobooth operates and the sequence of a photobooth session.

Entering The Photobooth

As you enter the photobooth, the bench seat and background will be on one side and the camera, light and LCD screen will be on the other. The booth can be configured so that the camera can be on either your left or right side as you enter, depending upon the specifics of your setting. The table for the printer and computer must be on the side of the camera however.

Upon entering the booth, the curtain may be drawn for privacy. As you position yourself on the bench, a series of instructions will be displayed on the LCD screen along with a large and clearly labeled start button. The instructions being displayed on the screen prior to the start of the session offer tips for positioning your group in the center of the frame, reminders to smile into the lens versus staring at the LCD screen, as well as instructions to press the illuminated start button when you are ready to begin.

Starting The Photobooth Session

When you are ready to begin, simply press the illuminated start button and the session will begin. Once again a series of instructions will be briefly displayed on the screen informing you that you are about to take a series of four pictures in succession and you will again be reminded to smile into the camera lens instead of looking at the screen. After a few notes of encouragement a countdown to the first exposure will commence. 4...3...2...1 and the camera will fire. After a cute comment, a reminder stating that there are three more pictures to go will be displayed very quickly followed by another countdown and subsequent exposure. The process will be repeated two more times.

Time For The Results

After completing all four exposures, one last encouraging message is displayed on the screen followed by instructions to leave the booth and wait for your pictures to be printed outside. A series of holding messages will be displayed while the computer saves the images and processes the 4-up index print. This process takes about 10-20 seconds, during which time the next session can’t begin. Once this process is finished, the next session may begin immediately even if the 4-up index print from the previous session hasn’t finished printing yet. The pictures take 40-60 seconds to finish printing.
